I stayed there for an art retreat (the retreat was most excellent). When I called awhile back, they'd lost my reservation (strike one). They boast of their balconies and patio areas-mine was surrounded by cigarette butts and paint chips! (strike two). There were a couple of ants in the bathroom doing laps on the tile (strike three). They blocked a hall off during the first night's party (food was not good and glad there was not a fire! Strike four). During lunch time Saturday, a lot of folks did not ever get food because "they didn't expect that big a crowd"! There was a freaking event there??? (strike five). At that night's Cinco de Mayo buffet, the chili was cold and the chicken so dry you could not swallow it without liquid (strike six). Sunday they refused to give us our paid for snacks-we were to get them until 11:00 and they cut it off at 9:30 and were nasty-no attempt at customer service there (strike 7).
The next week my checking balance seemed too low-they had taken $109.00 on my debit card after I PAID CASH FOR BOTH NIGHTS!!!!!!!!(strikes through 20 are coming). The girl there would not listen and tried to tell me she got the bank to credit it back within 2 hours-NOT. I had to go throughover a week of work and hell to have them finally check and they charged someone elses room to me!!!!!!!! Criminals. Their General Manager Becky Miller got to be rude thinking I should be satisfied to get my money back and a night's stay there-I don't want to go to that hellhole again!! The bank ended up giving it back after much of my time spent faxing and calling.
Cherry Valley Lodge has incompetent employees and does not provide good customer service. They brag on their setting-the creator did that. There are plenty of nice hotels in Ohio-I pray they don't hold the retreat there next year!
